2019 Import Announcement

The West Auckland Admirals can confirm the addition of Tamàs Làday to the crew of the pirate ship for the upcoming campaign.

Tamàs is a 23 year old Defenceman from Hungary, and has been rapidly improving through his Junior career to now be a key part of the Fehérvári D corps in the Erste Liga, as well as locking down a regular place in the highly touted EBEL League. He also spent two seasons in the Canadian Major Junior system, playing in the WHL with the Spokane Chiefs and the Medicine Hat Tigers.

At 200cm and 100kg,  Tamàs will bring a Zdeno Chara-like reach to the NZIHL in 2019, and this unit is known as a rock solid, puck moving Defenceman who can make transition plays with an excellent outlet pass, and makes players around him better. Look out for Tamàs rocking the blue #93 this season.

The West Auckland Admirals are pleased to announce confirmation of a new import player to our roster for the 2019 season.

David Nippard hails originally from a small town in Newfoundland, Canada but now calls Fort McMurray in northern Alberta home. At least when he’s not playing professionally in Europe. Far from being “just a jock”, he holds two degrees across Business Management and Kinesiology and has  a keen interest in the physiology science side of sport.

David spent the last season with Morzine-Avoriaz in France and was one of the team’s leading scorers during his time. The team narrowly missed promotion during their playoff run, with David a major contributor going at 2.0 PPG. He has previously played in the college system in Canada.

He is a fast, skill forward who also does excellent work along the boards and in the corners.  Physically imposing, he will be hard to knock off the puck and is looking forward to helping the Admirals climb the Birgel mountain once more in 2019.
